My new Achilles Tang has those tiny parasites that get in their sides. I just noticed it in my qt. I need to treat him before he goes in the main tank but I have some lr that must stay in his holding tank. I have seen reef safe ich rid, but is any brand better?

Hands down.. The best reef safe medicine that has worked for me is Kick Ich.It doesnt work for some peeps because they don't follow the directions to the tee. Also,Adding garlic to the fish food when treating with kick ich helps bigtime.

I disagree that the labeled "reef safe" meds work effectively.
Go with hyposalinity. If you are using the LR as a filter for your QT, it will be perfectly fine. Hypo is safe and most effective. Look in the FAQ Thread for details on the proceedure as well as info on ich.

Beth's right I bought prevent ich, and it didn't do anything for the fish that already had the ich. However all my inverts stayed OK.
