reef skimmer

i have a 55 gallon reef tank. 1 months ago i put plenum and 4 inches deep sand. slowly i remove the bio balls from the wet/dry filter. now i put 30 gallon sump for my tank. inside the tank i have a about 4 pds caulerpa and 20 pds live rock. i also put some extra live rock on the main tank, total of my live rock in my main tank about 110 pds. right now the only skimmer i have is a cpr back pack, the skimmer always full in every 5 hrs, so every 5 hours me, or my son have to clean the cup. what is the problem with it?
before when i using the wet/dry filter it took me like 1 week to clean the cup. is this a problem?

I think your skimmer is just working harder since the wet/dry filter is gone. Is it filling up with wet suds or just caked up with funky crud? Because if it's a wet foam your getting your pump is too high. Then again you probally already know that.

what do u mean by wet foam, dad?
should iput the cup a litte bit up, than the usual. inside the cup is dirty water, is it has to be wet inside the cup?

I think what he means is FOAMY bubbles, just bubbles..
My skimmer I empty about that often, and just wash it and scrub the yuk with a toothbrush I keep just for the skimmer..
I dont think thats really a problem, unless its just clear bubbles..
