I just started a 55 gal reef tank 48" long. I currently have an odyessa light with two t5 bulbs one is white light and the other is blue light. it also has 4 LEDs. I seem to have trouble keeping some of my corals alive. if the light is good enough what lighting should I use and for what time duration.

The problem is you don't have enough light for SPS coral if you have that type of coral. Give type of corals you have. If it is SPS you would need a 6 bulb fixture, with separate reflectors for each bulb or an 3watt LED fixture.

Yeah ur tank isn't to deep so t5 with individual reflectors 4-6 bulbs should be good enough for wat ever coral u want to keep. Check out Nova extreme pro or sun light supply TEK Lights.
