Reef Tank lighting

Do I have to have MH's to have a decent reef tank, or can I get by with 4-VHO's on my 55.

what kind of corals do you want to keep ? Heres a list of the lighting and what it can keep
MH- everything.
PC - softies,polyps,shrooms,LPS
VHO and MH is the the perfect combo IMO

I think that my canopy will get too hot with MH also!!

How many watts are the VHO bulbs?

They are only 110 altogether? Well, you will need to upgrade your lights if you want to keep most corals. You will want about 260 watts of power compact or VHO for a 55.

Do you think this is a desent tank this is with VHO's though I just when to MH just for the shimmer effect .
