I hear people talk about show tanks and reef tanks. What is the difference and what kind of livestock would you put in them?

ahhh, James and his wonderful sense of humour....A show tank would be like at the lfs where they have that great tank that they don't sell out of......at home we all have show tanks, except I suspect James keeps one in the closet behind his Austin Powers clothes:D A reef tank is a tank that incorporates, live rock, corals, fish, anenomes that sort of thing. Some people have reef with some combo of the above, some have fish only (fo) and some have fish only with live rock (fowlr) ah heck some of us have even different combos.

A show tank is taller and skinny, a reef tank is normally wide and shorter. Thats the way a couple of my books explain it. They also say to stay away from buying a show tank because the water surface is generally too small for the size of the tank, unless you are going to add a means for more oxygenated water.
