depends what kind of reef tank you have...
you would only consider putting a trigger in an aggresssive reef tank.
and even then, neither of those would be on the top of the trigger/reef friendly list.

A Niger and a Hawaiian Black Trigger will both eat your corals and inverts.

Not sure how big your tank is, but Black Triggers are not very suitable in the typical aquarium, they grow far to big, and need lots and lots of space.

The Sargassum and Crosshatch are also suitable species for a reef tank. Unless the tank is extremely large, triggers aren't a good choice for a reef system. They are very active, create a lot of waste and are unpredictable as they mature. Even the planktonic species can get an attitude. The black (Durgeon) trigger and niger, while planktonic, can become very nasty and they are imposing fish when adults that need huge systems. I wouldn't consider either of these personally.

Sorry
what I ment to say was Nip and or pick at. My friend had a Niger which he put into a reef not knowing and I watched it pick apart some of his stuff. Even if it is a rare occurence just trying to say its still possible.
