Reef time! Whats a good first coral?

I finally have the equipment set up required for a reef. I will be running a 250w MH HQI mini Pendant over my 29 gal. All my water parameters are good and I am close to finishing my 10g fuge. As soon as the fuge is set up, I was wondering what a good hearty coral would be for my first addition. Likewise, what are the prices ranges of most corals........how does this site compare to deals out there? I am afraid most of the LFS around me might be overpriced, but I just want to make sure.

Green star polyps are fun and pretty starter corals. I picked up a decent sized mat from a local reefer for $5 as one of my first corals. The GSP mat is huge now, and threating to take over a big piece of LR.

As always, mushrooms are very hardy. I have several different kinds that I've had forever and they only get larger and spread.

Cant go wrong with pulsing xenia. It's easy to find, cheap, and grows like a weed. Mine is about to take over my tank.
