Are there any guidelines as to how big of refugium is needed for what size tank. I assume the bigger the better, but I'm just looking for a rule of thumb. I have a 125 gallon reef and I have a spare 10 gallon tank laying around. Would that small of refugium help at all?
If you use that and have another tank for your sump, it will help, but, very little,IMO.
I would go w/ a 30gal for that size tank, min. if you can.

That's kind of what I figured, I was just trying to use stuff I had laying around to save $$. But if there's one thing I've learned in this hobby(obsession) is don't skimp on equipment. Thanks
