Refug Q

I am turning a 10 gallon tank into a refugium/sump for my 20gal reef. My question is I am putting two glass dividers into the tank to section of the middle for growing macros and a side on the left where the overflow box empties into which is where my protein skimmer will also be drawing water from. The far right side will be for my return pump. My question is, will the height different of a half an inch be enough to get ample waterflow throught the refugium? Heres a pic to help illustrate.

Im not an expert. But you could put the return in the middle and the fugie on the right. You could "T" off the overflow and use a ball valve to the fugie so you could regulate the flow.Have the fugiue over flow to the return pump.

I guess thats an option, I just want the largest space possible for the refugium. Any other ideas...will the 1/2 inch thing still work?

Nemolover I think I understand what you mean but a visual would help. I also need a spot of water free of macros that has high water flow because my skimmer is a cpr bakpak 2. I was planning on putting it on the far left but if your option could work with that it would be great. Thanks.

The flow will be determined from the return pump, not how you set up the dividers (at least in your diagram). The flow would be the same even if both dividers were the same height. If you want different areas of different flow, then you'd have to "T" off the refugium and control the flow with a valve or some other way as stated earlier.
BTW, because of how your design is set up, you are going to get LOTS of micro bubbles going back to your main tank.
EDIT:
After thinking more about it, I think I misunderstood what you were asking. The total flow through the whole setup won't change, but the currents may change in the refugium part with the height difference. I'm not sure it is necessary though (and may just cause more bubbles). My dividers are all the same height and from watching the particles and bubbles flow, I still get good circulation throughout the system. At one point, I did have another divider in the middle of the refugium part coming down from the top and extending into the water a few inches to help direct the flow, but found it to be unnecessary and took it out. Agree. You should use three baffles like below. Microbubbles will drive you nuts otherwise.
