Refuge lighting

HI I have a aquarays light 15 watts bulb over refuge. It came with the tank I'am using for the refuge. Do not Know how old the bulb is ? should i get new buld ? and what kind? or a differenr lighting systim?

I was told by one of the employees at the LFS that the light in the sump is only for the plants and algae to do the process of photosyntesis and did not need it to have a high power output bulb. I only have a 11 watts in mine and is doing the job very well.
