Refugium Size

I have a 300 Gallon Tank (FOWLR). I want to add a refugium and I would like to know what size you all think is needed. Also what flow rate from the sump to the refugium? Currently the system has UV, Wet/Dry, Protein Skimmer. Thanks.

For a tank that large,I would think at least a 55-75 gallon refugium would work...And as with all refugiums, the slower the better for flow rate.Within reason that is.I would guess to start with about 100GPH on one that large.

I don't think there is any special calculation for refugium size. But by going by what I have read from people that have them,,,About 10% of the main tanks size is adverage..So for a 190,you could go with a 19-20gallon refugium...But the one thing that DOES seem to be unanimous among refugium owners,is setup the largest one you can fit in your avalible space...
