Refugium-wet/dry-or both for 90 reef?

I will be setting up my 90 for reef in a few months. Right now I have a wet/dry system sump with skimmer. Should I keep using the W/D or go with building a refugium? Or possibly both?

If you have the room I would say add a refugium as a separate system. Connect the fug to the wet/dry with at least the same size piping that you use for the overflow. Additionally, if possible I would take the bio-balls out of the wet dry and put LR or LR rubble in there instead. IMO this is the best set up you can have for filtration.
So what I would do is overflow to the wet/dry. Have the connecting piping go to the refugium. Keep you protein skimmer in the wet/dry. Then have your return pump in the fug.

Trying to tell from the pics. Skimmer is in the fuge on the left. That is where the overflow dumps in? Then pumps out on the right with the cheato and LR.
Seems like the sand has colored layers??

I have a 90 reef and for years I had a sump and just a few moths back I put a Fluval Fx5 canister filter on a I love it. No cleaning filters every other day and no more salt creap.
