Refugium

Can anyone explain to me what a refugium is and if I need on in a 10 gallon nano tank. Thanks alot!

It's a tank/container plumbed into the main tank, traditionally stocked with live sand, live rock and assorted macro algae--outside the influences of inhabitants (i.e. no fish). This allows for beneficial bacteria to help in the filtration process.
If you have a 10g with a low bioload you really don't need one. You'll be fine with adequate LR and LS. IMHO.
