can you make a hang on refugium with an old aqua clear hang on filter or does the macro need light (stupid question)to grow. dont really know anything about them but would like to eventually have one to lower trates. any good site that you guys can recommend on building one???

macro does need light...either 24/7 or opposite of ur tank.. I've heard of a fuge being made out of an Aquaclear 500 before..never actually saw one though.
