Refugium

First what is a DSB?
Second I just purchased a 60 gallon square tank with 100w metal halide, 120w flourescent. It currently has no filteration. I also have a ten gallon tank (could be willing to get a 20g tank) with some live rock and 20lbs of live sand, I was thinking of using the tank and sand as a Refugium.
My question is what else will be needed for the refugium (considering a tight budget).
Third question, Considering the tank is 25" x 25" at it's base how much LS and CC will I need?
Thanks for the help. I promise to post pictures when I'm all done!

#1-DSB- Deep Sand Bed.
Skip to #3- No cc! Just use live sand or southdown to save $ with a little LS. Prolly need 100-150LBS or so. Do a search for the sand bed calculator. I saw it somewhere.
Check those wattages again. MH come in double ended 150w and I think 250w. Single are 175w, 250w and 400w.
Flourescent are 20w 2 footers, 30w 3 footers 40w 4 footers.
Then their are the Pc's and VHO's.
You will need to drill the tank-$$, buy a overflow-$ or DIY overflow. You will also need a return pump and all the pluming that goes with it.
HTH I'm sure you will have more ???? Good luck.

I recently set up a 20gal refugium. Here is what you will need
Overflow box - about $40
powerhead(400gph) - $30
Some tubing and clamps - $10
The way I set mine up. I put a plastic screen to seperate the tank. On the left half of the tank, where the water comes in, I have it packed full of Kalupra (macroalgae). The Kalupra is to remove nitrates and you can clip it to feed fish in the main tank. On the right side of the screen I have Live rock. My personal opinion is that a DSB is ugly, so don't have one in my main tank, but do have it in the refugium. My plan is to put new fish into the LR side of the tank for a week or so to let them adjust to my water without having to deal with other fish. I also have my heater, thermometer in the refugium.

Metal halides come in a variety of wattages from 35 watts to 1000 watts and are not only used in the aquarium industry, but more commonly used in gardens and greenhouses. I am actually using a Coralife 100w MH on my tank right now, check it...

What is the K rating of the 100w Bulb?
Most bulbs sold for other applications have a low k-rating.

oO BubbaGump Oo, you have a nice looking tank ;) do you plan to supplement the MH with some actinic?

Ok, this is what I heard so far:
1) Actinics are strictly for looks.
That's all, so basically I will not get any actinics because I love the way the MH looks already.
Question: What does "actinic" mean? If they do nothing beneficial, why don't they just call them "blue"?
Damn, sorry I really don't mean to steal this post...
