miracle mud vs live sand.. opinions?
also, would pumping water back into the main tank have any degrading effects as opposed to a gravity feed system. will the pump hinder copeopods etc from entering the main tank?

It is better to have the water gravity returned to the tank if you can set it up that way.

if you have the $ MM will work well, but its a lot more cost effective to just use a DSB with LS to seed it. a lot of people use a return pump to return water from a sump/fuge so i don't see any problems going that route. although it is best to gravity feed
