Well i need some info, is it ok to put some pieces of live rock and a few spoons full of live sand in the refug WITH chetos??? (still don't know to spell that) Someone told me its not a good idea,if you use chetoes they said don't use live rock or live sand. If you use L.R. and L.S. don't use chetoes. any one agree or disagree.?Would like to hear from more than one source

Lol That's how I say it even though I know better. It's really Chaeto sort for Chaetomorpha.
I've never heard of not mixing. I say you want the best of both worlds.
I have Bio-seds, with some arag, a helping of walt smiths fiji boost mud stuff, seeded also with LS, LR, And Chetos.

Hey FYI - most systems here in the US are combinations of systems from Europe. What works best isn't always in literature. Personally I utilize live rock in sump like folks used to use bioballs, water then flows into middle section of refugium where I place both a sandbed, LR rubble, and chaeto.
As stated earlier - why not get the best of both worlds!
