I have finally brought the fish i have always wanted a regal angel, he is now doing what i expected, not eating, anyone have a regal, what did you guys start it with, i tried live brine, and nori, and even a little flake he wont touch either. I remeber i had a pakistan that would not eat 2 years ago, i went to the supermarket and brought a muscle and he went right down to the bottom, and ate. Do you think this will work for the regal.

try garlic extreme also i read in another post if you take a scallop and take half the shell and scallop and put it on the bottom of the tank he will go for it
imho and from what i have seen and read the large angels really like to eat shellfish or bivalves or what ever you call them i cant think of the proper name at the moment

How long has the fish been in your tank? If it pretty new...he could take some time to become comfortable enough to begin a routine for himself.

How big is your tank? Is it big enough to keep him happy? Do you have enough rock and hiding places to make him comfortable?

Yes the tank is a 100 gallon with only him in it.
I used to have groupers and triggers in it, so there is defintely enough rock work. There is also some live plant rock that i took out my butterfly tank, that the butterflys pick on all day.
It might just be the fish. =( I dont know much about reef tanks and corals, but is there a way i could buy sponges, for it to eat, also how would i need the liquid food to feed the sponges?
