Regeneration ?

How do you "regenerate" resin(s) filter media like Purigen or Cuprisorb ?
I've seen threads on regenerating carbon (Not practical in home kitchen/lab) But my jar of Purigen says "easily regenerable" But no instructions:(
Dry it out in the oven, or what?

Probably in a brine mix...water and sodium...if you can buy table salt without the iodine...mix the water until no more salt will dissolve and soak your resins in the brine mix...stirring them...the resins are usually color changing to indicate usage...so if they change colors while in the brine they will either ruined or regenerated...

I am interested in this also even though I don't use resins. But I though these resins were used for saltwater tanks. Although brine does recharge ion exchange resins (for water softeners), I don't see how saltwater filter media could possibly be regenerated with salt water. Or perhaps it is the lack of copper that does the regeneration. In that case the resin would rerelease the copper back into the tank. So you must remove it when copper (cuprisorb) reaches low enough levels.
Again just speculating here but I am interested.

Fishgirl000000002;) (sorry, got carried away)
I live more midstate, edge of the Nicolet National forest, stones throw from Michagan, U.P. near Buzzard Creek (Locals call it Eagle River)
You could snowmobile from Hayward to here (I know it's mid August, but in a couple weeks it'll start snowing again :D )
I feel pretty lucky for being in the middle of nowhere, DRs. Foster & Smith warehouse outlet store is about 25 mi. from me, so I usually get my dry goods/equip. from there.( They have a Bargain corner with slightly damaged/overstock/discontinued stuff at WAY LOW prices)
Theres a small pet store in Minoqua (Pennywise Pets) that has a fair selection of saltwater fish and corals
But I spend most of my money in Laona at The Old Schoolhouse...Andy has a LARGE selection of fish and corals, orders every couple of weeks, does his best on special orders, stocks LARGE fish rather than 1"-2", has a Cool reef tank himself and will share/teach GOOD information on Current methods and WON'T sell you something if it's Wrong for your tank

Squidds...
That is how it is done for DI resins and such. You are wanting to create a chemical reaction for the resins to release the ions they are holding. Very similar to regenerating your coils for a water softner...
Bob...anytime any maintenance is done with resins...it is usually done outside of the tank...
With the saltwater resins though...the brine mix would be done in freshwater.
Kent's mixed bed resins are regenerated this way as well.

O.K. Got some info...
On the Cuprisorb: You mix Muratic acid 2 tbls with a qt freshwater soak overnight...rinse and dry...
On the Purigen: You mix 1:1 ratio household bleach to freshwater soak overnight...rinse and treat with Prime or some such declorinator,dry... color and stregnth will return.
