I have a remora pro, pretty good hang on skimmers. You can put bigger pumps on them too, maybe a maxijet 1200 or mag 3 in your case.

I have a remora pro mag 3 with preskimmer. It has been doing a great job on my tank. Always filling up the collection cup with filthy brown gunk every couple days. I just hated the amount of micro bubbles it put back to tank when it was new.

I have a 75gal tank that's newly cycled. I also have a 20 gal that I want to make a reef tank. The Remora is on the 75

I have the standard Aqua C on a 75 (it was originally purchased for a 55). I also have a CPR backpack. Originally the Aqua C was used with a surface skimmer and did a great job. Since I've added a sump, it was moved into the sump and the CPR is now used for surface skimming. Mine has the Maxijet upgrade and it has done a great job in both surface and sump skimming.

I'm probably going to replace the rio 800 with something like a Maxijet or a mag 3 and use the rio for the reef tank What dya think?
Hey Dubba how long did those mirco bubbles last?

i dont recomend rio pumps for skimmers- the clog easy and ther are just better ones out there- i've also heard bad things about them if the crack

The micro bubbles lasted about a month. It gradually decreased over time but im also running that prefilter box that hides the mag3 pump. I put a small mesh screen(like the ones used for carbon media) where the output hole is and placed the sponge on top of that. That way micro bubbles would be further reduced.
