Can i use like a 1200 gritt or higher wet sand paper to remove some minor scratches from my 90g acrylic tank, or should I use the kit. Im not sure but i think the kit is bassically sandpaper too. right? one more thing has anyone ever seen the infomercial for the eyeglass repair kit that is a liquid enamel that you brush on your glasses and it fills the scratches in looks like it works really well but you all know how those infomercials are

USE THE KIT it has liquid polishes in it to buff out the scratchs if that is the kit you get.

Hello,
I have a 125 gallon acrylic tank, and i've removed many many scratchs from my acrylic tank. But things i use 1. i HIGHLY suggest using the novus polish kit. Secondly i would use some steal wool for the major scratchs to wear them down, then use a fine sandpaper the next level down..then use the polish kit. I found when using the kit it was a pain in the butt to buff things out by hand, so i used a power buffer at the LOWEST level...DO NOT..AND REPEAT DO NOT go any higher then the lowest level or you will melt your tank.
I've done this several times to my whole tank, sometimes the scratchs were so deep you literally thought they would be unremoveable..one time a nail scratched my tank so deep i could literally fit the nail back in it. and it removed it the way i mentioned...just remember
steal wool first, then sand paper...then novus 3, then novus 2, then novus 1
(you'll understand when you get the kit)
follow those steps and your tank will be scratch free
