removing tree coral from...

I purchased a tree coral about a month ago and it is doing very well but it is attached to a small round piece of concrete looking material that is an eye-sore. It also has two small bands going thru the base of the stalk. The base of the tree seems to be attached very well to the concrete. My question is how do I remove it from the concrete or should I leave it alone since it is doing well? Would you try to pull the bands out, cut them against the coral, or leave alone? Will it reattach itself to my LR? Final question is the coral also has a 2 to 3 inch branch growing near the base could I use this as a frag, if so how would you remove it, etc? Thanks.

with soft corals you can take a razor blade and slice off that trunk. Put that trunk in a hole in a piece of live rock, or use net to keep the coral from floating away. I got a frag of blushing coral that was a tree shaped soft coral. I was able to just stick it into a hole and it is growing like crazy.
