removing unwanted coral

I had some yellow polyps that were getting a little out of control. I read that people used tweezers and removed them. I did that this morning, trying to get the whole polyp, but every now and then one would burst.
This after noon my tank was a litttle mad. The yellow polyps all closed up, my frog spawn closed up, my flame scallop brought it's tenticles in.
When the polyps burst, do they release something bad in the water? Should I not remove the polyps like this? :notsure:

i would shadow the light from they or something that is passive because they can release toxins, so be careful

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, but do you mind answering a question of mine? To what do you attribute your success with the yellow polyp? I have been having trouble with mine, losing more numbers than I am gaining at times.

run lots of fresh carbon and do a water change, maybe crank your skimmer up so it wet skims.
from now on to remove them pull the rock they are on out of the tank and pull them off the rock out of the tank then rinse the rock in some tank water in a bucket.
good luck I hope everything pulls through.

I'm gonna cry! I think I've killed my frog spawn!! I hope my tank doesn't crash!! I'll run out and grab some carbon. I already did a water change!
I hope everything is alright.
Oh, yea, about my yellow polyps. I feeed them frozen mysis shrimp about 3x a week. I thinks that about it.
