Reno....Was there really a need?

I have seen a couple of threads lately that are seemingly shut down for no reason...not just by the new mods either. I mean do they take up memory or something...what's the big deal. Threads don't always have to have a point or some valuble lesson...I don't get alot of the recent locks. Elbow room is getting tight around here.

i felt it served its purpose in telling swf.com an issue and they fixed it, but it was just being silly from there almost as if it should be in the aquarium. someone else can unlock it if i was wrong

it may be because there are two more very active mods on the boards. i feel that lots of things have slid in the past because there are a few inactive mods and the active mods couldnt catch everything.

Could have just moved it to the aquarium rather than locking it. You can never have "enough fun".

Sorry, it was a metaphor. I stayed in this section b/c fewer people look here, other than the one's that scan the 'new posts'. But really, you are not helping your case IMO. Forget about that particular thread, although I was enjoying it and there was no doubt that it was just a typo error regarding the subject matter, people were having fun, and not breaking any rules. So how does this make the mod look who locks it down?

Chris, I agree that you can never have enough fun, but was the fun appropriate for these boards? I don't even know what posts you are talking about but I do know that none of us lock a thread for no reason. Elbow room is not tight around here. There is a lot that goes on in threads that you all don't see. We delete the inappropriate content before locking them. Threads will be locked if the content is inappropriate, it has become a bash fest, has become WAY off topic in a negative way, or is just giving everyone else a bad experience, among a host of other things. We are not out to spoil anyones "fun". We are here to be sure that people follow the rules that you all agreed to when you signed up here.

Perhaps this has been the case. I am bowing out as I think this could get ugly quick.

Nah, no need for it to get ugly at all.

Okay, so I'm not surprised that Sep is bailing out Reno (this is understandable in "mod-ville"). But I am in no way pleased with the response. I highly doubt that there was some post in that thread that the rest of us could not see, prior to the shut down, that was remotely deserving of the shutdown. I stick to my OP. Not trying to stir up something here, but yes, I'm po'ed, at the reno activity lately.

...and I could have been explained to in a PM, and we would be 6 less posts?
Not that I would have bought into the answer, but just saying.
