I need to replace my Eclipse hood so that I can put some better lights on my tank. I have already retrofitted the hood once, but I am still not getting enough light to support most corals. I have realized for sometime that the Eclipse is not a good solution for a reef tank, but when I bought it I did not know what I was doing. I am in the dark (no pun intended) as to what most people use for lighting and hoods (canopies) on there tanks. My tank is a 37 gallon, same dimensions as a 29 gallon just deeper. Anybody been through this? Help is appreciated - thanks.
Also would I need to add an additional filter to the system to replace the filter in the hood? I am using a Prizm skimmer in addition to the hood as it stands now.
