there website says distributers can order replacement parts but many of the big guys dont like to deal with replacement parts and tell you no even though they can (went through it for a tunze part) so i figured id give the hobby a ring before going from distributer to distributer trying to find it

i hv called their company b4. their customer service is very nice. if its still under warranty, maybe u can sned it back to them for repair. i had a t5 nova extreme fixture in the past, and never ran the fan. they dont cause that much heat unless u hv it inside a canopy.

That's really good to hear as my new set features one really loud fan!
Has anyone replaced the fans with a quieter fan? Does anyone know what the size of the fan is? I'd like to purchase a quieter one plus add one to the right side. I see that a place to mount one is already there. I guess they use this same housing for an upgraded model that has two fans perhaps?

I have a 48'' orbit extreme comp. flouresent light. last weekend I took the fans completly out and cleaned them, they were really dusty. It took about a half hour. a million screws to remove, but pretty easy. If you do a search, you should be able to find those exact fans for about $22.00 and instrutions to install.(against the rules to give website) and I agree with you, they are loud.

check marineandreef they sell parts. You may have to call current and get the fan size if you don't know.
Marineandreef sells a lot of stuff and cheap to boot.

Thanks guys. I'm going to measure it and see if I can't find some quiet 12 VDC fans to replace them. My main problem is with the noise. Maybe if I just slow them down a bit it would be more tolerable.
