repurpose project 2.5 gallonish "tank"

Ok, so I work for a University and have been working on various display/educational pieces that reuse/repurpose things that we all probably have lying around. I create "bottle biomes" out of pop bottles, terrariums out of canisters and glass cookie jars (I'll post pics of these if anyones interested. I am trying to figure out how to create a sw marsh biome in one of them, but so far my brain's not working it ou
^&), and I have a brine shrimp hatchery out of a big pickle jar. The neatest repurpose is my little salt tank. It is an apothecary or large cooking jar, not sure what you'd call it. It is doing really well. To be honest, I didn't think that it would work. I want to get a couple of mangrove starts for it, working on finding a better light than the lamp from my office (only 25watts daylight bulb). Plan on adding sexy shrimp to it, would love to but a coral in there if I can figure out a viable lighting solution.

I think that I figured out a better light to use for this set-up. The colors are so much better with this one. It is a vision max daylight lamp (400nm-700nm spectrum light).
A student brought in a small piece of LR with 2 "corals" on it for the elementary kids that are visiting tonight to see. Since they are quite mobile, have already moved from their small piece and onto the LR I have in this tank, i am fairly sure that this gift is 2 Majano anemones. I will leave them in for tonight, but remove them as soon as I can tomorrow. They were so proud of them, I really hated to hurt a grown man's feelings. (not really. I did tell them what I think they are. I guess they have been quite liberal in spreading the joy around these parts, so I would love to be wrong in this instance).
I had stated earlier that I would attach photos of the bottle biomes and some of the other re-purposed environments I have done. So here those are as well.

VERY NICE!!! Those are way cool!!! Seems you got alot of fun things on your plate!
It is fun (most of the time). I enjoy the challenge of trying to take ordinary things and make them into something really cool.

Now to figure out a better filter for this little tank...
