So I am thinking about getting this tank a glass 6 foot 180gal. It’s holding h20 just fine but it was recommended that I reseal it. I have never done this before is it a easy D.I.Y project?
And if it not leaking why mess with it?
What is the best product to reseal it with?
Thoughts feedback etc. Would be great!
Thanks

i resilicone every tank i get used.
i just use 100% silicone from the depot.you dont need the special fish store stuff all silicone becomes anert when it drys.
on a tank that big you need to do one half at a time all that is holding it together is the silicone.so razor one half out then silicone give it two days then turn it over and do the other half .this will keep everything aligned.
just put a good bead along the edge and run your finger firm across it once.
i do two runs wait till the day after for the second.also you want to put a much thicker bead on the bottom.

thanks I was kinda hoping that i could "get away" with out doing it but it makes more since to do it right from the get go...
so you just razor = remove half the silicone form one side.... does that mean let say i have the tank up right remove the bottem back silicon... then apply new silicon bead let dry and maybe the front corners at he same time??
I am hoping to do the job with the tank up right as its all glass and quite heavy to move around.
any more feed back from ppl who have done this?
