Resealing tank - good/bad idea?

I have a tank that I bought used, and it holds water- filled it outside and left it sit for 3 days- no leakage at all.
However, after draioning it, i noticed that some of the silicone used to seal the tank originally is a little worn, and has tiny cracks in it-- i am concered about it leaking once it is filled.
Should i re-seal this? even though it doesn't leak now? If so, what is the best way to go about it?
Thanks,
Joe

I believe it is Sammy who often encourages people to reseal used tanks. You can just add more silicon on top of the old to make it thinker and unexsposed.

Alway reseal a used tank. It may not leak now, but it could be the old "one more straw to break the camels back" waiting to make it start. It is better to be safe than sorry.
