Hi all
I am busy reseaching a few different varieties of fish to add to my 125 gal. FOWLR. I want to be sure that what I add is a good match. I recently asked about Anthias and decided against those...I have always liked Pearlscale Butterflies so thought I might get some more info on them.
Next month I am going to start adding about 100 more lbs. of live rock (in small increments) because I know I don't have enough right now.
The tankmates would be a large Yellow Tang (so far he's been very mellow with his tankmates and eats out of my hand every day, so he's proven to be a pretty nice guy. I've not seen him be aggressive yet.) a good sized juvi Cortez Angel who can be a little pushy at first with new additions but eventually calms down after a day or so, a Flame Angel who can be a real butt with fish similar to him in size, two perc. clowns and a green chromis. I have two cleaner shrimp, ten turbo snails, an emerald crab, two green brittle stars, and a red legged hermit. There will likely be more hermits soon.
My tank has been set up for just over a year, and by the time I add the live rock it will be about a year and a half old. I have a wet/dry filter (I clean a small amount of the bio-balls each month) and an Aqua-C Remora Pro skimmer. Water quality is good but I am also going to buy an R/O unit SOON (like within a few weeks) because I have been using bottled water for water changes. I do water changes on a regular basis and will do it more frequently when I get the R/O unit. I feed a large variety of foods and always use Zoe and Zoecon. Does this sound like a tank that a Pearlscale could thrive in?
What can anyone tell me about Fairy Wrasses? They are a possibility for me if they are suited to my tank.
I am also thinking of a mandarin but I know that they need pods. Would it be possible to set up a 10 or 20 gallon refugium just to grow pods for one, and is that big enough? How would I do that?
Thank you!!
