Residual copper?

I need to move my tank to a stand that won't collapse, and have to set up a temporary home for my inhabitants. If I clean an old copper treatment tank real well, can I use it to keep my corals in for a short time? In other words, does copper absorb into glass or silicone? I don't think it does, but I don't need to add to my current tragedy.

This depends on which copper treatment you used. Some are formulated not to soak into the rock, sand, and silicone, but stay suspended in the water. You can check by cleaning the tank VERY WELL,then fill with water.Let it set for a week or so then check for copper with a test kit.

I kept copper in my tank for 18 months. Then I converted to a reef. I never had a problem. I used copper rid for several weeks.
I would recommned that you fill you tank, test your water and then and use a copper absorber and check levels. This should work. By all means keep testing the water.
Good Luck,
Connie
