resizing pics

how do i make a picture smaller?
i need a 100x100 for my avatar
i tried to edit, but the pic comes out as only the top,left-hand corner of the original pic

Look for a button that says show actual print size. When I shrink a pic in phtoshop it will shrink down and show a small box in the upper left frame. Click on show actual print size and it shows exactly what it will look like.

right click the pick choose the open with option choose the microsoft paint program then go to the image toolbar at the top of the screen and select stretch/skew move both stretch and skew to like 40% or whateverclick apply or ok and when u get it to the size u want go to the file menu and select save as .jpg or .gif
