Resolution Size

I don't think there is a max on the resolution, just the actual image size which is under 102k (I think it may be 105k though)
With that said - I am a guilty party of this before I rememberd how to resize an image - pictures that are set at 1280x960 show up REALLY big and screw the formatting of the post up.
Smaller is better when it comes to posting a pic, most of the posts I see have a resolution of around 400xwhatever makes it square - think its like 260 or something.

that usually provides a full screen shot on most monitors without have to scroll side to side or up and down

How do you get a detailed picture that size to be under 102kb? What are you reducing your dpi down to?
I've only played with photo editors a few times, not sure if theres a better format, way.

what i do is set the resolution at around 800 by 600 and then i save it as a .jpg image. when you save it as a jpg you can set the quality of the image. that way you can save it as low quality while having a high resolution. Then you can have it under 102k while still having the picture a reasonable size.
