I was watching my Huma when I noticed he will swin up to a rock and smack it with his side. He will do this to the rocks then he goes and does this to the sand then starts the rotation over again. Is he retarded or happy?? He eats well...

When they get ich don't they get white spots?? I don't see any on him or the other fish or anything in the tank for that matter...

it could also be a fungus. leave the fish alone, and if there strong enough, they will fight off the fungus. my yellow tang did that for about a week, and he fought off the fungus and is fine now.

Upon closer inspection of all of the fish, I can see little white dots on the head of the mimic tang and white spots on the head of the huma. The flounder is also flipping out. He has white spots also. He is usually buried beneath the sand, but tonight he is swimming all over acting very stressed. If this is indeed ich, how would you go about treating a whole tank?

I BELIEVE YOUR FISH HAVE ICH, WATCH THEM CLOSELY WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE TURNED ON AND YOU WILL WEE SALT SPOTS ON THEM...MY TANG AND EMPEROR SNAPPER GOT ICH AND I DROPPED "COPPER SAFE" ACCORDING TO INTRUCTIONS, THEN IN 3 DAYS THEY STOPPED BUMPING AND HITTING THE SAND...IT WAS A CUTE DANCE, NO? ANYWAY, YOUR FISH IS NOT RETARDED BUT YOU NEED TO RESPECT THEM MORE...WOULDN'T YOU DANCE AROUND TOO IF YOU HAD ICH??? HEY, ALSOS THEY TELL ME THAT ADDING "PRO-TECH" WILL BE GOOD BECAUSE IT GIVES THEM SLIME WHICH KEEPS THEM FROM GETTING DISEASES...GOOD LUCK, HOPE IS WAS OF HELP...I'M JUST LEARNING TOO!!! PATTIE

Thanks guys... I am getting ready to get my other tank set up so hopefully I get it set up in time. I did however lose my Flounder. He was found this morning <img src="graemlins//dead.gif" border="0" alt="[dead]" /> <sigh> :( I am going the route of hypo and I have learned a VERY valuable lesson... QT... I wont EVER be caught not doing that again...........

Don't feel bad, I learned the hard way too. That's the only downfall to this hobby; the learning curve is STEEP. ;)
