I have a 135 gal with built in overflows. The drains are 1 1/4" reduced to 1"pvc.I don't know if I figured out head pressure but here is my figures,5' verticle 3' horizantle and 5 90 degree elbows.I figured that to be 11' if that is correct. So with that being said what gph internal pump should I use.I was looking at an ehiem or mag drive...Thanks in advance

11' head... I'd use a Mag18 with a ball valve on the output to reduce the flow if necessary.

5' vertical
3' horizontal
5 90s
1 union
using 1" pipe for the return
A MAG 18 should put you in the 900GPH range.
IMO, The issue you have with this, is the fact that you choked down your plumbing on the drains.
Oh, and using what I posted for plumbing, it comes out to about 9' of head. It is a little less but, 9' is close enough.

I have 3/4 " pvc on the return because that's the size of the bulkhead. Will this setup still work with mag 18?Thanks
