return pump keeps cutting on and off

IT's a Danner Mag Drive 9.5B pump. I just replaced the impeller thinking that was the problem.
The pump keeps cutting on and off in about 30-50 second intervals.
What's the problem? Can I fix this pump or should I get a new one?

Someone just told me that my pump is about to die. That's why it keeps cutting on and off...
I've been a Danner fan for YEARS, but I think it might be time to try something different. Anyone like Quiet One pumps by Lifeguard Aquatics? With the word QUIET in their name, they should be, right? 1" inner and outer fittings... seems pretty ideal for the situation and uses half the energy that the old danner pump uses...
Anyone?

Sounds like it keeps going out on thermal over load. My guess is an electrical issue with the pump causing it to over heat. Since it's not an isolated issue I'd go ahead and replace it.
I've always heard mixed reviews on those quiet one pumps. Especially when it comes to the quiet.

Yeah. I have plqns to replace it in the works.
Im going to give the quiet one a chance. I know that the old danner pump was hot when i pulled it out of the tank. Makes sense that it is overheating.
Anything will be more quiet than what i have right now.

Right on. There's mixed reviews on practically everything out there so the only real way to know if you're gonna like it is to try it. One thing that does stand out though is the efficiency. Typically, using less electricity in an effort to gain efficiency usually translates to less over all power or torque. Something to keep in mind when you're considering the head pressure on a pump. Can't always trust the specs they put out there.

Well, the 4000 model puts out 954gph at zero foot of head. Not sure how many watta is required to reach this gph. I have been reading mixed reviews on every pump. The quiet one is pretty muvh the only thing i can afford outright is the quiet one.

We ran a QO 4000 for lots of years on our split 40B. I like them a lot, just as good as the mags IMHO. Some peeps end up with noisy pumps in the larger QO models, but ours was fine. I find that MOST of the larger pumps are a bit louder than the smaller one of the same brand, but nothing is as loud as the Pan World we have on the 210.

Well, that is good to know. I ordered it this morning. It should be here by tomorrow morning. Yay. Now time to scrape up some change for a few select pieces of pvc.
