I picked up a 75g with overflows today and am going to be using a 30g sump, I was wondering what kind of turn over rates everybody uses I was thinking about a 900gph pump, am I way off track here? Also what is the best thing to start my cycle i've heard to put a raw shrimp in there would this work?

Return pump = to skimmer pump. I have a mag 12 return and a mag 18 skimmer pump. I like to think that all water going through my sump first entered my skimmer.
Starting a cycle could be done with damsels or raw shrimp would definetly cause a cycle to start.

please do not use damsels to start the cycle. unless you plan on going aggresive. they get very nasty when maturing and in future you will wish you never put them in. either cycle with chromis or the raw shrimp. i loved the color of my damsels until it was hard to put a new fish in the tank. so when i broke the tank down to get drilled off they went to my boys aggresive tank.

900gph would be fine..... What pump do you plan on using?
I have a Mag 9.5 (Brand New) I am selling for 65 + shipping. It will give out 950gph.
BTW - I am using one of these on my 110.
