return pump???

hey all just wondering when installing a return pump with pvc is there anything you need to add so if something goes wrong the water wont back flow in to the sump?thanks

Most reliable method is an anti-siphon hole in the pipe just at normal running water line of main tank.....as the water starts to back flow, air gets sucked in and stops the siphon....

add a check valve.... not one from a hardware store cuz u dont want metal in them...
i got mine from online its a

[hr]
clear PVC check valve allows water to go through but when comes backwards when pump is off it closes to stop the back flow... around $20

i couldnt make a whole in mine cuz my return lines are internally plummed in my overflow box and dont come above the water line so that wouldnt work in my case

lol oh well but yes if u can do it that way then u'll have no probs

thanks everyone thats just what i'll do,drill the hole.i thought that i did something wrong.thanks guys
