I'm replacing my return pump in my wet/dry.I have a 55 gal reef tank.What is the correct size pump i should be using?

You need to measure the distance from your wet/dry sump to the top of your aquarium. Lets say its 3'. You should consider a pump that will give at least 4x your gal size, or in this case, approx 200gph minimum at a 3' head. More is better. However, you need to consider the flow rate of the overflow box. If the pump is too powerful, you will run dry.

do you have a UV sterilizer? if its inline in your return then you need to consider that you want the maximum of the water to be in there, so you want a slow flow rate, if you dont have a uv inline with the return, then i would agree with the above post--jake
