I just bought 30 pounds of live rock that came with 2 free ricordea polyps. I've never delt with them before and I just want to know what kind of lighting and water they need. Thanks!

Just like all types of corals they need excellent water quality to thrive. Ricordea are actually a type of mushroom, but tend to need a little more light then regular mushrooms need. I don't know what type of lighting you have, but they aren't considered difficult corals to keep.

Are you talking about ricordea mushroom? If so they do well in low to medium light and are very hardy. They will eventually multiply in good water.

I've had a nice ricordia for a long time now and it is a hardy easy to keep coral. As stated they do need stable conditions...plus a wide range of light will work. Mine seems tp prefer moderate light and current. Too much light and they seem to withdraw a bit.......below is a old pic of mine. It has since split several times.
