I have had my ricordea for about 2 months, and it has 2 mouths on it now, and is looking like another one may be coming in. How long until they spli into two, and is there anything i can do to get it to split?
Also, I have had my frogspawn for about month and a half, and it has 4 heads on it. There is a little tube coming out of the side, it is soft, not as hard as the skeleton. Idont know if this is a new head sprouting, or just something growing. How often do frogspawn grow new heads, and what does it look like when they do?

Ricordias take longer than regular mushrooms do IMO. I have had 3 for over 4 months now. One split about 3 months ago the others just get enormous when the lights are on.
The rock type formation the heads of your LPS are on is made from calcium carbonate. Your corals make this structure as part of coral propogation, this maybe the new sprout of another head starting to form.

The Ric might or might not split. I have seen Ric's with two mouths that have not split. You can propagate it by cutting it in two between the mouths with a razor blade. Careful they slime like Ghost Busters when you do it. Hard to say on the frog. They do grow new heads starting as a bump on the side though.
