Ricordea growth question

I have several rics in different parts of the tank. The ones at the highest point actually moved themselves under the shade of the toadstool and have grown fast ever since. The ones about midway up have grown some but not as much as the ones up top and they are the same rics. The others are at the bottom and have not grown at all. So where is the best place for them to maximize their growth potential?

I would suggest in my
tank.
Seriously though, I'm still months from introducing coral, but wondering how fast is fast growth? A frag of 5 Green Dragon Eye polyps would grow to 50+ in how long, given good parameters, as a benchmark?

it will sometimes depend on your lights, more blue light means more color, but less growth, more white mean, more gowth and less color.

It's hard for me to give you good answers for this..but I honestly think that it's based on dirty water and lights.
I have very clean water and I keep my rics on the sand. They fan out and look good but they haven't split or grown at all.
My brother had green rics and kept them about a couple inches from the bottom of the tank in very little light, never did a water change, and his rics split at least 10 times....he started with a single ric FL.
I'd personally suggest that a middle-point in tank would be ideal for their growth.

I don't think it matters but they do like light, i have them all over my tank, top and bottom and mine have grown like crazy the ones in the shadows can be seen reaching out for more light, I have seen the stems as long as 2 to 3 inches but best is if they are just lying flat. I keep the water at normal levels and all i have is comp flor lights.

I guess only time will tell how they will do. Right now what I really need to worry about are my GSPs. They are starting to encroach on other corals.
