so i was at my lfs yesterday and they had this cool solitary ricordea shroom, but wanted 22 bucks for it. does anyone have any experience with these guys? are they hardy, reproduce easily?, need to be fed?, light requirements? Also is 22 bucks for one pretty expensive? They are like the only decent fish store around so my options are pretty limited, but it looks sooo cool, almost liek a small bubble tip anemone!

22 bucks is kind of expensive.Maybe it has to do with limited options like you said.I get them for 5 bucks a single.they have ricordias on this site for 3.99 but I think you have to buy a minimum of 75.00.

Mine has done well for over a year now.....even took 2 small ones back to the LFS I got them from...(traded them for my green bubble)....they seem to prefer moderate light and current....on ocassion I'll direct feed with mysis shrimp mixed with DT's & zoe...they've grown well and split from the single origional into numerous new ones. A great low maintenance corals that is hardy and grows quick....below is a old pic of mine.

what color was the ricordia they were selling for $22? Green ricordia is pretty common and cheaper thatn some of the other colors out there.

It was a very bright flourescent green. I guess they are just a lot harder to come by at the lfs's here in CO!
Anyways, i splurged and got it and have had it in my tank for a couple days now, and its doing realy good. What a cool little shroom. I hope it starts splitting like crazy eventually!

I got 2 light blue frags from garf.org about a month ago and they are doing great. I got like 14 different frags for just over a 100 bucks. But I've seen them at several LFS here in CO. but they do command a high price. I've been eye-balling an piece that has two orange caps on it, it's smaller than the my garf frags and they want 70 bucks for it. I just smiled and said no thanks. 22 dollars seems a little high, but if you like it, it's not really that much money.

I have two varieties, blue and green. I have had much succes with them. The blue one has split three times and stays about 1.5 inches in diameter. The green one is just begining to split, its about 4 inches in diamater. My domino damsel is using it to sleep on. I feed them brine, krill and microvert.

Mine is pink and brown, I paid $10 for a small single shroom unattached. It has grown to about 5" now and has a baby but no sign of splitting. I feed frozen brine and he gobbles it up.
