Ricordia - how does it split?

yes just got 2 pieces of Ricordia, and just wondering how does it frag or split it's self..
Do you see another mouth on the edge of it start off???
not sure if anyone knows please help me out..

nope it splits from the middle out. they just 'separate' if u will.
but this can take up to 2 months if you dont frag it and let them do it their selves.

how would you tell if they are starting to split? because recently my one green ric's mouth has gotten kinda big and wide! is this a sign of splitting?

u know if there splitting by when mid-day you see the two sides of the ric curving in (like the sides of a butterfly) and stretching out. it can be a timley process. but if its getting large i would fag it urself to speed up the process. just take a carpenters knife or something really sharp and just cut it right down the center.

think of it as a cell in the body. they just split in two pieces. i've seen my astrina stars do pretty much the same thing. they just start to get thinner in the middle and seperate.

You will see two separate mouths also, takes a long time for them to split even after they have two mouths. I just leave mine alone as I am a chicken to cut them up
