ricordia question

Yesterday I got a blue florida ricordia that has three mouths. I was wondering should I leave it and it will split on its own or do you think I could cut it and get three out of it. Let me know basically which would be easiest I hate dealing with mushrooms my tank has to much flow to ever get them to stay on another rock after they've distattached from the inital rock.

use i brand new razor blade and cuttin it up i do it all the time!!!!

Let it split on its own!! You do not want to cut a new coral due to the high stress levels and the risks of infection due to the move. If it has three mouths already, find a good spot in your tank with medium flow and let it go on its own. In a couple of months when the coral has settled, then think about cutting it.

As long as your water param are good there is no reaswon why you can't pull it out, take some sharp scussors and cut it up. I do it all the time and have never had a loss. They are very hardy and heal quickly.

Ya it seems like my rics are the toughest things I own. I had a hammer coral fall onto an orange ric and damaged the ric down the middle. It then regrew into 2 new one. My blue ric I accidently poked it while feeding it and it made a cut through part of it and it split from there. I now have the 2 oranges and 3 blues.

What are you feeding? Mine is growing like gangbusters and I don't feed them other than what they get in the water column.

I wish I had three mouths. Better yet, three stomachs. Think of how much food I could eat!
Leave it alone. Let it split and if it doesn't want to then it wont.
