A comfortable range is 75-79, Mine is always 77-78.

There is no ideal temp, there is more like a workable range. Anywhere from 75 to 80. 82, although is tolerable IMO is an undesirable temp.

Give or take a few tenths of a percent, but about 79.8° F is suppose to be the most accurate number.

76-83 F my tank stays at 79 with the 250 watt MH on.

What I will add though, indeed, anything from 75-83 will work. The thing you do not want is the tank's temperature to swing that much everyday (5-8 degrees). The less swing the better. Try to kept it less then 3°.
