I run a 1700 on my skimmer(CPR SR9) and HATE IT...The air injector kit(that you must buy seperatly)has never worked correctly. And now the stupid hose that injects the air keeps comming off and filling my sump with bubbles that are getting into the main tank...I willbe replacing it with a MAG soon...

RIO'S ARE BADDD BADD THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!! I have had 2 die on me in the last 2 months and one was only 6 months old. NEVER GET A RIO!!!!!!!!!!!! The Rio pump IMO is the devil in the fish tank world.
ok now that i have gotten that out of my system. If you look around it is possible for you to find a Maxi jet foor around 14-22 dollars depending on what size pump you need. I have5 maxi jets and they are wonderful!

I am new to the hobby, and haven't bought powerheads yet, my tank isn't set up so its no rush, but it is a 75 gal. I have heard you should get powerheads that pump about 10 times your tank volume per hour and the bigest maxi-jet is only 295 ghp <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" /> so what do I get?
