rio 2100 pump

Does anyone out there know how to adjust the water flow on a rio 2100 pump. It came with my used set-up. It's attached to an Amiracle Venturi protein skimmer, but it seems to be pumping too much water causing the skimmer to overflow. I've tried but, I can't seem to slow the water down. The previous owner (who is not reachable) must have had it working, right? Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thank you!

I have one and it came with a plastic valve that slips right on the output side of the pump and you just turn it to adjust. Perhaps they didn't include it when you bought yours. Sorry, but you should be able to pick one up from your lfs.
