You should place it gently in the garbage, and then go buy a maxijet and put it anywhere in your tank that you wish.

regardless the quality of Rio, I personally think a Rio 2500 is too powerful as a powerhead in your 55g tank. This thing is going to blow up your ls, fish in circular motion like a washing machine. :D :D

I have used Rio pumps for years and have never had a problem with them. If someone had a problem maybe they had a difective pump and they should have called the manufaturer. I am sure there is some one out there that has problems like that with other pumps. Just because one or two people have had problems in the past with something does not meen that it is a bad product it just meens that they got a bad one not that they are all bad. I am running six of the biggerst rio's for five years and have not had a problem and several of my friends are running them also for about the same time with no problems. If you have aproblem with a product call the company. I know that everyone has ther opinion and I think everyone should but i disagree that you should slam them so bad if you did not contact the company and give it another try. i know I am going to get flammed for this but this is my opinion.
As for using that pump for circulation in a 55 you are going to have your sand and fish going every were in that tank.
