Rio 3100 as return pump?

THe rio 3100 is rated a 900 gph head presure, so it will work, a little on the low side for the size tank, but I would look at a different pump, rio's have been a problem for alot of people, they have a problem starting after the loss of power, and I have found that when they get older they make more noise. If you do a search for rio's you will find alot of good info. Mag makes a good pump and not as expensive as others.

Hi, I currently use a Rio 3100 for my return. So far so good. I did have a 2500 not start after power outage. But i also had a ball valve 3/4 closed on it too. Only time will tell.

I use a Rio 3100 and also a Mag 5 on my 140 gallon tank. I have 2 1" bulkhead fittings, and it works just right.

I also have an extra Rio 2500, could I ty this in with a Tee so both pumps are working together? Will this work? Of course if one pump fails the other will just pump back into th sump through the failed one.
